In 2025, ChapSmart pivoted from providing educational materials to delivering practical Bitcoin financial services. On April 27, we launched our automated remittance system (BitRemit), enabling instant global-to-Tanzania transfers via Lightning. We continuously improved the website UI for better usability. In October, we added airtime top-ups using Bitcoin. In late 2025, we achieved full sovereignty by migrating from Alby to a self-hosted phoenixd node — no custodians, direct control.

We are deeply grateful to @BitcoinSafariTZ,@getraud (JET.BITCRAZY),@Adamsimecka,and Alby for their ideas, guidance, and support. We learned immensely from them — they played a key role in ChapSmart's growth.

With 547 transactions and 107 users in 2025, we are ready to scale. Expect new features, lower fees, and wider reach — bringing Bitcoin payments to more Tanzanians.
